Before Voting
- Verify your polling station location in advance
- Bring valid identification (citizenship card or other government ID)
- Arrive early to avoid long queues
- Dress appropriately - avoid party colors or symbols
- Check voter lists at your polling station
While Voting
- Maintain queue discipline and respect others
- Follow polling officials' instructions
- Vote in complete privacy in the designated booth
- Use only the official stamp provided
- Keep your ballot secret
- Report any irregularities to officials
After Voting
- Leave the polling station promptly
- Encourage others to vote

DON'Ts ❌
Prohibited Activities
- Don't carry mobile phones inside the voting booth
- Don't take photographs or videos in the polling station
- Don't wear party symbols, colors, or badges
- Don't campaign within 200 meters of polling stations
- Don't consume alcohol on election day (illegal nationwide)
- Don't accept bribes or inducements from any candidate
- Don't intimidate or influence other voters
- Don't disclose how you voted to anyone
- Don't damage or mark the ballot paper except with the stamp
- Don't bring children into the voting booth
Serious Violations
These acts can lead to arrest:
- Impersonating another voter
- Voting more than once
- Stealing or damaging ballot papers
- Disrupting the voting process
- Violence or threats at polling stations
- Tampering with ballot boxes
Alcohol Ban
Important: Sale and consumption of alcohol is prohibited across Nepal on election day and 24 hours before polling begins.
Campaigning Restrictions
Campaigning is prohibited:
- 48 hours before polling begins (silence period)
- Within 200 meters of any polling station on election day
- Using loudspeakers during restricted hours
What If You Witness Violations?
- Inform polling officials immediately
- Call the election helpline: 1619
- Report to police if serious violation occurs
- Stay calm and don't take law into your own hands
Photography Rules
- NO photography inside polling stations
- NO selfies with ballot papers
